Mi pare che questi 3 forellini possano essere per cucirlo sul mantello.
Sono piccoli e agli estremi opposti, tipico da cucito.
Il gancio è a lato del volto del Leone...non mi pare una bella idea per metterlo a muro

Anche la foto di Farinello lo dimostra.
Il Leone si vede dritto e il mantello viene agganciato di lato
